Bio

Member of SAG/AFTRA/AEA.

It’s been voiced, by my legions of admirers, if you combined Allison Janney (okay, okay - not the height) with Christine Baranski (again, minus the elevated stature) and Edie Falco, sprinkled with just a touch of Bette Midler, the humble yet empyrean result would be moi; smart, with a bit of an edge, who will always find the funny, without sacrificing layers of depth.

Here’s the deal: I spent the better part of my adult life in Boston, while the impressionable years of my youth bloomed right here in New York. After what seemed a lifetime, I returned.

Once upon a time, during an evening, seemingly no different than the others before it, my loving and adorable husband arrived home, tired and somewhat famished. After removing his outer wear, he observed nothing appeared to be happening in the food preparation niche. This both surprised and bewildered him, as I, his wife, am a rather noted gourmet chef. Treading cautiously, he gingerly asked what was for dinner. I turned, faced him square and pronounced, “I don’t know what we’re having for dinner, but I hunger to move to New York to find my destiny.”

At this point you are probably asking yourself: “Find your destiny?” No one actually speaks that way. Well, okay, perhaps it didn’t go down exactly as described. Dramatic and literary license, the hallmarks of any good storyteller, as all actors are, take precedence.

Bottom line: After studying theater in college, I, for a myriad of reasons, chose not to follow my heart. I landed in the world of business. But the heart has a way of beating its truth. And the universe has its own way of making sure you listen. What I heard was loud and clear.

After finding the best Meisner instructor in Boston, Lyralen Kaye, and studying with her for some time, I was lucky enough to become an ensemble member of her company, Another Country Productions. As such I worked on many new and original plays. Highlights include: “Junk Mail,” “Neitzche Ate Here,” and “The Plot.” I also originated the role of Nan in 11:11 Theater Company’s, “Diffusion of Loss,” among other work.

Yet the yearning to take my training and career to the next level persisted. I enrolled as a student at The Michael Howard Studios Professional Conservatory Program. In time, after completing the program I moved to the city full-time.

I have never ceased studying, for it’s the investigation that gets my blood going. The ability to take off the page, to create a true and fully realized character, makes my heart sing. Sentimental and clichéd as it sounds, I have never been more blissfully content. Everyday I romp with delight in the creative sandbox.

I’ve had the pleasure of creating the role of Liz Hastings in the NY premiere of “One In Eight”. Additionally throughout this past year I’ve participated in many staged readings through the Primary Stages JAM and Playwrights Reading Series. Highlights include “Welcome to Civilisation;” “Yussel Takes the Wheel” and “Typing.” I’ve also performed in quite a few independent films as well. Most notably the macabre short “The Knitting Club” and the feature “Absent Father.”

I continue to study with among others, acting coach Larry Moss. Author of “An Intent to Live,” Larry has worked with folks such as: Helen Hunt, Hilary Swank, Leonardo diCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and many more.
